Director, Bowker Consulting Ltd
Debbie is passionate about providing the excellent service which Bowker Consulting prides itself on. She has many years of experience leading this team of Education Consultants. Debbie is widely respected in the industry for her knowledge and understanding of the impact of relocation on families, and is on the Executive Board of the Association of Relocation Professionals (ARP). She has a background in secondary Maths teaching and currently serves as a school governor for a local primary school. These skills and experiences provide her with a comprehensive educational knowledge of both past, current, and future education reforms and implications on relocating families.
Deborah offers calm reassurance and a wealth of knowledge and insight. She provides individually tailored research and advice, helping to manage client expectations and confidently navigate complex admissions processes, to secure the best possible outcomes. She also looks after families who are on International Assignments and provides specialist support with School Appeals and SEN.
Jane studied psychology at Somerville College, Oxford, and has a special interest in child development. She has taught in both state and Independent schools in the UK. Jane also spent five years in Kenya where she taught, and her children schooled, at International schools. This has given her valuable experience of ‘both sides’ of the relocation process.
As an enthusiastic science teacher, Tina has taught secondary-aged children in a variety of schools. Her husband’s company has taken the family on several moves around the UK, giving Tina first-hand experience of researching schools in new locations and making important decisions quickly, enabling her son a smooth transition.
As a linguist, Heidi taught French, German and Spanish for twenty years within the state secondary sector, and was Head of Department at a highly regarded grammar school. Heidi is well versed in the teenage psyche, having organised numerous foreign exchange trips and visits, and has exceptional cultural awareness which she draws on as she advises families.
Lynne has sixteen years’ teaching experience in state schools as a teacher of history and Head of A Level sociology. She was a GCSE and A level Examiner for seven years. Lynne’s two children attend a leading state secondary school. She has personal relocation experience, applying ‘out of area’ for her son’s school place.
Originally from Germany, Katharina has lived in Australia, Holland, and the UK with her husband and sons. This gives her a first-hand appreciation of the challenges faced by families moving to a country where the culture, education system, and languages are very different.
